Nestled between the Silicon Valley and San Francisco, this modern bespoke cottage is the culmination of a blended vision of Christopher Stringer, industrial designer and Elizabeth Paige Smith, sculptor and designer.  The couple teamed up with architect James Gwise and together the team embarked on a journey to meticulously consider and refine every detail of this home.   This home exemplifies a clean, modern, and artful design aesthetic with walls of glass and integrated landscape planters inside that welcome in the artistry of the surrounding natural landscape.  The many artful details include a bathroom sink carved into a massive boulder, bold marble kitchen countertops, colored concrete and wood floors, and salvaged wood panels that line up at every angle.  Louis Ptak was able to source naturally stained, premium old-growth redwood from the legendary Hangar One at Moffett Federal Airfield in the Silicon Valley.  Originally intended only for the exterior walls, the owners decided that this incredible material had to come inside and clad all the walls, ceilings and cabinetry creating a one-of-a-kind private oasis.  The landscaping, like the home, was carefully selected to make the most of the naturally occurring views.
