Designed by the architectural firm of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, the Umerani Residence is located in Los Altos, California. The client is a structural engineer and his vision and sensibility are evident in the exposed, articulated steel columns and beams that define the home.

Sustainable environmental systems are highlights of the project. They include generous overhangs, operable transom windows, and radiant floor heating, as well as photovoltaic and solar thermal panels. The home has received awards from the AIA (Santa Clara), and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
